Permafrost

By: Hans Christian Sivertsen

Climate – Permafrost  (its influence on society (buildings, infra structure) or Kliima - igikeltsa (selle mõju ühiskonna (hooned, infrastruktuur)
Well, I have done a bunch of research with permafrost, so I kinda know a bit about it and it's influence both in infrastructur and in enviroment. (The basic stuff). The research I have done contains "a lot" of work in the lab, where I looked at the concentration of the CO2 emission and the composition of the permafrost within a specific depth. I have also done some "homework" where I readed the theories of permafrost, and it's influence.
So my plan is to make a PowerPoint presentation of permafrost and it's influence.

There have always been natural emissions from the earth/ground, especially areas with permafrost, that means in the arctic regions. But this emission is becoming exacerbated by global warming, because the global warming is quickly melting the permafrost away in a frightening rate that could dramatically increase the rate of global warming, which leads to a "stronger" global warming. And it's estimated that there is about 280 billion tonnes hidden in the permafrost. Methane is about 23 times stronger then carbondioxid as a greenhouse gas, which is also why it is getting a big problem for everybody in the future. That means the whole weather system will change, some places will get more rain then usual and  some places will become more dry. Some places will become coldere in winter and some warmere at the same time. The storms could get stronger and.

Influence on spare time activities

By: Ittukusuk Heilmann, John Christensen, Kunuk Møller Lund

Climate differences: How does it affect spare activities?
Many people like to sail at the summertime, be out in the nature, and be out in to the late night in the midnight sun. Somebody likes to do different sport activities in nature at the summer, at the winter some like to play with their snowmobile.
All those activities are possible because our climate is on the polar circle, and we have an arctic climate. All Greenlandic people lives near the sea, so we are used to it, it can be hard to live away from the sea.

Our climate had big influence of our personality for centuries, and it would continue to do it.

Too few people use the spare time activities:
There is great nature in Greenland. You can ski, snowboard, dog sledge at the winter and so much more. At the summer, you can hike at the nature, sail at the nature, go to the mountains and so much more. Many people don’t use those great opportunities. How can we use our nature better than we are doing now?
